Glass Fibers Integrating SIZICYL™ to Have the Mechanical Properties and Electrical Conductivity Required for Leading-Edge Composite Applications
Sambreville, Belgium – February 5, 2010 ‒ Nanocyl announced today it has reached an agreement with 3B for the joint development of innovative CNT glass fibers for the growing thermoplastic and structural composite markets.
In the agreement, 3B-Fibreglass, one of the leading manufacturers of fiberglass products for the reinforcement of thermoplastics and thermosets, is producing glass fibers which have sizing integrating SIZICYL, Nanocyl’s versatile CNT-sizing agent which improves the mechanical and electrical properties of composite materials.
The new CNT glass fibers will provide both the electrical conductivity and the improved shear, impact and de-lamination properties OEMs must have for developing the next generation of composite materials, such as 100% recyclable automobile parts and the blades used in wind turbines.
