Key performance properties of CNTs include:

  • Higher Cleanliness—Low outgassing and low particle count significantly decrease the costs and risks of contaminating hard disk drive components.
  • Elimination of “Hot Spots”—Eliminating residual voltage enables control of more stable, homogeneous electrical conductivity.
  • Dimensional Stability—Strengthening the trays and parts used in storing and transporting HDDs helps eliminate the risks of damaging electronic components.
  • Higher Recyclability Rate—After 10 recyclings, CNT-based compounds have a higher level of conductivity without additional additives.
  • Greater Abrasion Resistance—CNTs can improve overall surface and mechanical properties because they contain fewer particles and have a lower loading.
