Reduced Recycling

Recycling breaks carbon fibers, and dramatically minimizes electrical conductivity. Thus, carbon fibers (CF) must constantly be reloaded to achieve the desired electrical conductivity.

This is an expensive proposition, especially in the production of IC trays, HDD trays and other sensitive electronic components. Most of the time, a complete reloading is not required, but at least 40% of the filler must be added.

Nanocyl’s carbon nanotubes perform better because they are smaller than carbon fibers, and are less likely to be cut during the regrinding process.

The results of several studies on recycling are displayed in the chart below, demonstrating the higher retention of electrical properties of Nanocyl’s CNTs. The studies indicate the surface resistivity (Ohms/sq) of an IC Tray in MPPO, obtained after the tenth recycling.
