One of the key advantages of Nanocyl’s carbon nanotube (CNT) technologies is that a lower loading of carbon nanotubes is needed to reach a given surface resistivity and have permanent ESD properties, as compared to traditional carbon black or carbon fibers.
Besides lowering your total costs, lower loading means:
- Easier, cleaner processing
- Less material used
- Lower chemical reactivity
- Better surface quality
- Better retention of key mechanical properties
The diagram below shows the loading in Carbon Black (CB), Carbon Fiber, Highly Conductive CB and Nanocyl NC 7000™ needed to achieve a resistivity of 106 to 109 Ohms/Sq in polycarbonate’s injected bar.
